Abstract

The main object of this project-research is the time and space representations within diverse aesthetic cinematographic traditions by analyzing the sound uses and behaviors in Brazilian movies up to the contemporary movies and film makers, when it will be given special attention to the work of the Brazilian film maker Júlio Bressane. The focus of the present research is the uses of the sound when it is not linked to the visual component these movies. This technic has been experienced particularly in many cinematographic traditions in the postwar period. Therefore, this research looks for investigating the imaginary potentialities when sound and visual images are not connected in a movie and generates multiple and open mental images. (AU)
