Abstract

The vegetation that occurs on the Holocene sands of the coastal plains of Brazil is commonly called "restinga". The restingas are not a homogeneous type of vegetation, since variations in substrate and salinity affect the plant communities on the coast, producing a large floristic and structural variation. In the State of Sergipe there is a great lack of studies on the restingas, and to date no floristic study was developed and published on the coastal vegetation of the state. The present project aims to conduct a floristic survey of a restinga area, create a database and an electronic Florule including an interactive key for identifying of the plants of place, which will be available on the Internet. The studied area will be the State Park Dunas, located between the municipalities of Barra Coqueiros and Santo Amaro das Brotas. For two years, the species will be collected, photographed and identified. The software "BRAHMS" and "BRAHMS online" will be used to build the database and an eletronic Florula, and software Lucid 3.5 will be used for the construction of multiple-entry key to species.
