Abstract

The main objective of this research is to investigate an architect's professional practice in Brazil, in the context of three architecture and urbanism magazines: "Arquitetura: Revista do IAB", monthly published between 1962 and 1968, "Projeto", monthly published between 1977 and 1996 and "AU - Arquitetura e Urbanismo", bimonthly published between 1987 and 1996. It will be checked during this research project the proposals and discussions around Brazilian architects´ role during the last century, theirs salaries, education, changes and attributions in their work. Besides, this project intends to continue the work developed during two years of FAPESP´s scholarship, advised by Professor Dr. Telma de Barros Correia which summarized 290 magazine reports and editorials about Brazilian architect's professional practice.
