Abstract

The "working the scene: the theater as a media culture in the ABC region of São Paulo (1960-1990)" is proposed to study the oral accounts from local artists, the communication processes of culture and its elements innovation through theatrical events in the cities of Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo and São Caetano do Sul, in the ABC region, between 1960 and 1990. This will be analyzed the records of oral narratives of the artists of the region and the information collected from personal collections, public and regional journals. Objective of this research, it is intended, with the intersection of sources collected, identify the processes of communication of culture through theatrical and analyze its relationship with the formation of a local cultural identity in a period of economic and political transitions in challenge to the censorship imposed by an authoritarian regime, assuming prominence in the workers' struggle and culminating in the democratic process. The central methodology of oral narratives of life history and interpretation of documents, positioning itself in the face of communication studies and culture. (AU)
