Abstract

The use of charcoal in the industries is of great interest as a renewable energy source. In the rational production, is made of smoke condensate from the furnaces of coal production, reducing environmental pollution and getting the pyroligneous extract (PE) proposed for various purposes in agriculture. However, studies to evaluate the action of this product in soil and in the development and nutrition of plants are still scarce. To achieve this, two experiments, one of them in order to evaluate the role of PE in the movement of ions in the soil profile and chemical properties of that and the other to verify the effects of PE in the development and nutrition of tomato plants. The first experiment will be conducted in a greenhouse in pots containing 4 dm3 Red Latosol (Oxissol), in a completely randomized factorial 5 x 2 (5 PE concentrations in the soil: 0, 1, 2, 4, 8% v/v with and without spraying a 0.1% v/v in plants) with 3 replications. Will assess the shoot height, stem diameter, dry matter production the aerial part. The second experiment will be performed in the laboratory, where they will be applied 5 PE concentrations in the soil (0, 1, 2, 4, 8% v/v) with soil columns to assess 4 depths (0-10, 10-20, 20 -- 30, 30-40 cm), conducted in a completely randomized design with 3 replications. After performing the leaching columns, both the leachate and the soil of different depths will be collected for chemical analysis. (AU)
