Abstract

The research proposes the development of a numerical tool for seakeeping simulations of marine systems using a time domain boundary elements method based on Rankine sources. Experiments with waves will be planned and conducted at the hydrodynamic calibrator of the Numerical Offshore Tank (TPN) aiming to obtain data to validate the numerical results. The research motivation is directly related to the present demand of the laboratory TPN, which currently needs to transpose the hydrodynamics coefficients from the frequency domain to the time domain.
