Abstract Tilting pad bearings with electromagnetic actuators are a new generation of hybrid active bearings, where the hydrodynamic lubrication supports the rotor and electromagnetic actuators control rotor lateral vibration. The efficiency of the control system can be verified by its ability to change the bearing dynamic characteristics, represented by the dynamic coefficients. However, there are several identification techniques available in literature. This project aims at studying three different identification techniques, applied to the passive case bearing (without control). Hence, one expects to fully understand the advantages and disadvantages of such techniques in order to identify the dynamic coefficients of the active case bearing (with control) with the best method. | |
