Abstract

In recent years we have developed a new method of spectral synthesis to model the emission of accretion disks of non-magnetic cataclysmic variables (VC's). This method incorporates consistently Wade and Hubeny's atmosphere-disk and a line radiation driven wind. The wind atmosphere structures are calculated in NLTE in co-moving frame. When confronted with spectral data in the ultraviolet (UV), these models showed a satisfactory agreement with high orbital inclination systems. It was also shown the need for a more sophisticated wind structure to reproduce line profiles of systems with low to intermediate orbital inclination. In this work we propose the improvement of this method that will lead to a better description of the disk and wind, and its application to observational data in UV and optical. These changes involve the inclusion of the titled wind atmospheres with respect to the disk plane and calculating the geometric dilution of radiation and irradiation of the outer regions by the inner disk.
