Abstract

In Brazil, according to IBGE data, in 2008,2.495 municipalities in Brazil (44.8%) were still completely uncovered of network sewage. Thus, its residents had to resort to alternatives such as septic tanks, sewage dump in rivers or vacant land, causing great damage to the environment and the health and quality of life of these people. Ecological sanitation is an innovative approach that has emerged to try to solve the lack of sanitation and the various problems caused by this. This form of reorganization is based on: the preventing water pollution, provide sanitation of feces and urine, and use these products for agricultural purposes. From this approach, this project aims: to analyze the influence of human urine as fertilizer for the cultivation of two species, lettuce and corn, to verify the effects of it on soil properties and the product and to recommend appropriate dosages for each species. This will be through done experiment with the planting of these species and with the division into different groups that will receive different doses of urine. After that, the results will be analyzed through statistical analysis using the leaf area and plant dry matter, for that way compare the growth of these groups. (AU)
