Abstract

The present research has the objective to analyze teacher's formation of Sociology in UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL PAULISTA - UNESP - in Social Science courses offered by the same university in Araraquara and Marilia campuses, proposing this subject to extend in the future to the rest of the State's Universities, to identify in what proportion the licentiateship in that courses cooperates to the students graduated through they don't reproduce, in their practices as teachers, the social valuation of an utilitarian education and dominant character. In order to, it intends an analysis , according to the sociological theory from Pierre Bourdieu, and he's notions about reproduction, symbolic power, cultural capital, and habitus, the process of restructuration of the mentioned courses, finished in 2007, also the routine impact of the actual curriculum grate about the student's formation, carrying out across: 1) the exam of the teachers responsible for the pedagogical courses curriculum lattes, and official documents Courses' Council about that process ( records, restructuration project, summaries of the previous and new grate), 2) semi- structured interviews with the old members, who participated in that season in the curriculum restructuration, with the referred teachers, with the students who graduate the licentiateship, with the academicals centers' representative, and 3) the empiric investigation of the pedagogical courses ministered in both campuses, of the compulsory probation completed by the students at the High School, and the Sociology classes ministered by teachers graduated in UNESP, with the intention to identify, from the gained references, if a new habitus is in gestation in both scope.
