Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the letters among Stefan Zweig (1881-1942) - an Austrian Author who exiled in Brazil during the II World War and who wrote the book named Brasilien, ein Land der Zukunft (1941) - and European and Brazilian intellectuals. The work will analyze the Author's Letters of the period in which he lived here (1939-1942). For collecting the data two archives were chosen: the Biblioteca Nacional, in Rio de Janeiro and the Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach, placed in Marbach a. N., in Germany. It will be done a survey about Zweig's Addressees and a description about the letters content in order to revealing the relations among the Austrian author and the Brazilian and European intellectuals.
