Abstract This research project focuses relations between school and family in moral education processes. There has been a general complain that families are not doing their part as far as their children's moral education is concerned, leaving this responsibility to schools. This complain has been detected in part of the analyzed questionnaires used in the research "Successful moral education projects: searching Brazilian experiences" (MENIN et al., 2010), in which we participated as a scientific initiation scholarship- PIBIC/CNPq student, in 2009/2010. This project aims to continue the analysis started with that research, and also intends to investigate the way schools feel in relation to family's role in their children and teenagers' moral education, based on 150 questionnaires collected in the west region of São Paulo State, selected in a general database. Later, some successful school experiences involving students' parents will be chosen and the schools will be visited, when the proponents and participants will be asked to answer a semi-structured interview. Resulting data will be understood and interpreted by means of a qualitative and quantitative approach, with criteria based on Moral Education current literature inspired by Development Psychology. | |
