Abstract

Changes in risk factors for cardiovascular diseases such as tobacco control, healthy eating and physical activity are significant in reducing mortality related to circulatory diseases and in improving the perceived health status in patients with heart diseases. This study aimed to provide health education to promote changes in behavior. The educational program will be built based on the theoretical framework of the Social Cognitive Theory focusing on the construct of self-efficacy proposed by Bandura (1977), who considers it as the most important prerequisite for behavior change. The concept of self management of care will also be used. (AU)
