Abstract

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an inflammatory disease that affects multiple organs and characterized by periods of activity and remission.Premature atherosclerosis is a major concern nowerdays and metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a major contributer to atherosclerosis. The objective of this study is to determine the prevalence of MetS in SLE and to determine clinical aspects, laboratory and treatment feature associated with its occurence and quantitate serum levels of TNF alpha.
