Abstract

Juvenile Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (JSLE) is an autoimmune disease characterized by periods of activity and remission, starting at 16 years of age. The JSLE patients have a propensity to complications of the clinical picture, being more common in atherosclerotic disease. The metabolic syndrome together with the provision of body fat is very useful for early treatment of the formation of atherosclerotic plaques that lead to coronary heart disease. The present study, the characteristic cross, aims to correlate the prevalence of metabolic syndrome, body fat distribution and inflammatory markers in JSLE. (AU)
