Abstract This project proposal aims to study the processing of radar absorbing materials, known as RAM, based on conductive composites prepared by impregnation of carbon materials with poly (o-methoxyaniline) conducting polymer (POMA). Carbon black with different electrical conductivities and carbon nanotubes with single and multi-walled will be used as carbon substract. This theme is innovative in the dielectric type RAM processing mainly by the use of carbon nano particles. Besides, this study aims to contribute to thinner and lighter absorbers processing also. A previous study - Master Degree - supported by FAPESP, showed advantages in the prepration of microwave center absorbing based on conductive composites processed by using carbon black impregnated with POMA. Thus, the present project proposal intends to contribute to this area expanding the previous study by obtaining different conductive composites using different carbonaceous substrates, including carbon black with different electrical conductivities and carbon nanotubes. The materials to be obtained will be characterized by Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopies, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry and electrical resistivity, permittivity and reflectivity (attenuation of the incident radiation), in the range 8-12 GHz, measurements. | |
