Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the use of chlorhexidine in different excipients in the treatment of the dentin surface, and the effect on external adaptation in class V restoration, using contemporaries adhesive systems, by analysis in scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Will be selected 96 human molars divided into 12 groups (n = 8), Standardized Class V vestibular cavities will be prepared and the teeth will be randomly divided according to the type of treatment of dentin: dentin saturated with water; dentin impregnated with chlorhexidine in water; dentin saturated with ethanol; dentin impregnated with chlorhexidine in ethanol. After application of the solutions for the impregnation of dentin etched with phosphoric acid 35% (Ultradent Products Inc., South Jordan, Utah, USA), will be employed the adhesive systems Single Bond 2 (3M ESPE, St. Paul, MN, USA), Prime & Bond NT (Dentsply, Milford, DE, USA) and Excite (Ivoclar Vivadent, Schaan Liechtenstein) and the cavities will be restored with composite resin Z250 (3M ESPE). The specimens will be submitted to thermal and mechanical cycling. The entire procedure will be caried out simulated pulpal pressure and hybrid layer characterization the quantitative analysis will be assessed using epoxy replicas and SEM.
