Abstract Throughout this project, one proposes a study on the downfall of an epic universe in two poems ascribed to Ossian, Fingal and Temora. One will try to evaluate such poems within a context of transformation of the Scottish society and of reconsideration of literary forms of representing reality and experience, which were crucial to the development of the novel and of lyric poetry. | |
