Abstract Diffractive hadron scattering at high energies constitutes an open problem in the QFT of the strong interactions (QCD). New data to be obtained on pp interactions at the CERN-LHCin 2011-2012 will be crucial for the necessary development of the theory in the diffractive sector (elastic and dissociative processes). In this project, we propose a description of the elastic and dissociative data by means of empirical and phenomenological methods, based on the eikonal representation and nonperturbative QCD approaches.
