Abstract

ABSTRACT: This project is linked to 'GIELITE "(Group Interdisciplianar of Literary Studies), registered in the CNPq, coordinated by Professor Dr Irene guiding Zanette of Castaneda. His masters and doctorate were developed with a view to semiotic theory and literature. The aim of this study is to analyze from the perspective of semiotics greimasian line, building the sense of some Brazilian songs that talk about death. In particular, identify the semiotic mechanisms used to express the sense of loss, sometimes with extreme melancholy, sometimes with traces of humor or nostalgia, show the development of concepts that characterize the Brazilian popular song itself, the samba. Will be used as a methodological support to the theory developed by Luiz Tatit in Semiotics of the song: melody and lyrics. 3rd ed. São Paulo: Ed Listen, 2007 and other books by the same author.
