Abstract

The main goal of this project concerns the preparation and characterizatio of organic-inorganic hybrid materials based on fibroin, modified siloxanes and lanthanide ions. Fibroin will be extracted from Bombix mori cocoons and amino modified silanes will be used for the interaction between organic and inorganic parts. Lanthanide containing thin films will be prepared from collloidal suspensions by using dip-coating and spin-coating techniques on glass substrates. The multifunctional films displaying proteic groups and the luminescence properties will be fully characterized
