Abstract

After the end of dictatorship in Brazil, the architecture as discipline had its epistemic field redefined. A new historiography of architecture has been produced, changing the possibilities of interpretation of the Brazilian Modern Architecture. Despite the fact that present architectural design narratives are heirs of these interpretations, they haven´t expressed similar transformations. This situation has produced, in the last three decades, distinct theoretic -critical sceneries in architecture . This research investigates some meanings of this present disjunction between the architectural criticism and the architectural narratives, as different answers to the social, political and cultural transformations of Brazilian society.
