Abstract There is a consensus that the epidemiological data are important for health planning in order to allocate sufficient resources to handle the problems associated with the disease. The institution's actions impact on health of the population involved can be improve. To establish the epidemiological profile of speech and language disorders in children belonging to the west region of São Paulo. Method: This study will be developed with all the childrens belonging to the microregion Butantã / Jaguaré and served by the Speech Therapy Clinic of the Department of Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy of University of Sao Paulo in the period between 2000 to 2010. It will be use medical charts of all patients who have been consulted in the Speech Therapy Clinic. Data will be recorded in individual protocols and tabulated for further analysis. The variables will be: complaint of the patient, age, sex, speech diagnosis predominant as well as the comorbidities and therapeutic stance. The statistical treatment to be implemented will be descriptive and analytical and the variables will be interrelated. | |
