Abstract

This research project will be done in green-house of the Centro de Ciências Agrárias, Araras-SP. The research activities developed will define the technical positioning of herbicides applied pre-emergence, post-emergence on the aspects of phytotoxicity to alfalfa and the residual effect of herbicides applied to crops prior to the succession of alfalfa. In the experiment with the pre-emergence herbicides will be completely randomized experimental design with four replications in a 4 x 4 x 2 with four herbicides for use in pre-emergence (trifluralin, acetochlor, alachlor, metribuzin); four doses, and two types of soil and the texture (clay and sandy soil). In the experiment with post-emergence herbicides, the experiment is completely randomized design with four replications in a factorial 10 x 4, with ten herbicides and four doses each. In the last experiment will be used herbicides recommended for corn, soybeans and sugar cane and alfalfa will be planted at different times after herbicide application (15, 30, 60, 90 and 120 days). Phytotoxicity symptoms are observed, evaluated visually, plant height from the ground to the apical meristem, leaf area, analyzed through an electronic meter of leaf area, and at 42 DAS will determine the dry weight of shoots and roots.
