Abstract

This project postdoctoral part of field research conducted between 2005 and 2009 on the decisions of Brazilian courts on the subject of conjugalities homoerotic, and will seek to deepen the study and collect data that identified the devaluation of domestic work performed by gay men engaged in stable relationships, to demonstrate the existence of a majority of these subjects using in litigation in which they were defeated in order to guarantee inheritance rights, division of property on separation, death pension and other pension and welfare benefits. The project is based on two basic theoretical issues that unfold from the study of social representations of domestic work performed by gay couples: in the field of gender studies on labor, examination of the condition of subjects whose domestic work is devalued not only as such, but also by being exposed to the legal framework in a "subordinate position" regarding the recognition or not of legal consequences arising from their marital relationship, when one examines, for example, its direct or indirect contribution to the formation the wealth of the couple. In sexuality, emerges the theme of gender identities and the production of "marginal subjectivities" (Oliveira, 2008) by the legal discourses about sexuality, based on ideas in the studies produced under the "queer theory".
