Abstract

Ionenes are a specific class of linear cationic polysoaps whose preferential shape in aqueous solution can be controlled by the length of the methylene segments of their structure. The Bt-3,6 ionene and Bt-3,6 dodecyl ionene complexes will be investigated to examine their ability to remove organic pollutants. The bentonite-ionene complexes will be employed to study the incorporation of hydrocarbons for future application in the construction of a permeable reactive barrier as a field methodology for the containment of a free-phase plume.
