Abstract

The water that supplies the city of Alta Floresta is captured in the Mariana basin which is a high degree of degradation caused by unsustainable agricultural activities that could jeopardize the city's water supply. The aim of this study is to assess the level of degradation of natural resources, understand the logic of production systems adopted, and the perception of farmers about the recovery and preservation of the Mariana basin. The survey will consist of a case study in order to obtain broad and detailed knowledge of agroecosystems and their social actors through secondary data collection (theses, reports, articles, etc.) and primary, semi-structured interviews with open and closed questions In-depth interviews, evaluation of physical and chemical properties of soils and water as well as the creation of sustainability indicators using the methodology SAME (Marco para la Evaluación Management Systems of Natural Resources) with the use of various participatory tools. The data collected will be tabulated and analyzed using descriptive statistics, as well as through the multivariate analysis using Multiple Correspondence Factorial and Hierarchical Ascendant Classification processed by SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), compare the variables that have high heterogeneous degree of correlation.
