Abstract

The objective this research project is to understand the freedom idea defended by Bergson in the context of the "An Essay about Immediate Data of Consciousness", seeking investigate how it's made from new conception of temporality. Accordingly, we will seek to write the questions that at stake in the analysis Bergsonian of time, aiming not only to specify this new notion of time, the duration, but rather to show how to configure the analysis and critique of the philosopher called time homogeneous basis of mechanistic conceptions of consciousness. However, if the notion of duration we want to know freedom, two questions will then appear. First, given the strong distinction between duration and time homogeneous, explain the claim that the last consists of a mixture or projection outside the internal duration? Secondly, how the claim that freedom is an immediate datum of consciousness - and therefore, a fact - can be compatible with idea that it admits of degrees? (AU)
