Abstract

This study is called "Occupational Therapy Intervention in helping parents of children with cerebral palsy during the performance of ADLs."The objectives of this study are to identify problems in occupational performance of children with cerebral palsy related to performance in activities of self-care, to describe the role of occupational therapy intervention with parents and children with cerebral palsy during the performance of Activities of Daily Living and offer informational support to these parents in relation to stimulation during these activities. Participants in this study are two children who are accompanied by the Occupational Therapy Program in Child Health, School Health Unit, Federal University of San Carlos. Participants are also parents of children who will receive advice during the intervention.First protocol will be used COPM (Canadian Occupational Performance Measure) target with the children. After, there will be occupational therapy intervention, which will include orientation sessions for children and parents to facilitate the child's independence in activities of daily living, according to the demand raised. Finally there will be a review session to examine whether the participating children and parents incorporated the suggestions proposed by the guidelines and occupational therapy and to assess whether occupational therapy intervention was positive. For that reapplied the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM).
