Abstract This research aims to investigate the philosophical foundations of Pierre Schaeffer's (1910-1995) theoretical thought; especially the way he appropriates the phenomenological method of the German philosopher Edmund Husserl (1859-1938), in order to operate the concepts of sound object and object musical underlying the "solfège concrete" in their experimental system.
