Abstract

Due to the high amount of wastewater released daily by textile industry on water bodies and invention of new textile dyes, it is necessary to know the impact of these effluents on water ecosystems and methods for degradation. Textile dyes are different between themselves according to the way they fix on fabric, due to their chemical proprieties. Therefore this research aims the development of a methodology able to degrade different kinds of textile dye. The efficiency of the methodology is going to be evaluated using spectrophotometer and toxicological testes with Saccharomyces cerevisiae and evaluation of Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus growth inhibition. Also will be done essays with Winogradsky columns, for studying the impact caused by the contamination with the effluent in the environment (especially on phytoplankton) qualitatively and quantitatively. With the sediment withdrawn from the columns, it is going to be done Petri dishes with pour plate method for counting of CFU's. (AU)
