Abstract

The objective of this work is through a study of representations and practices of reading, involving the collaboration of supervisors teaching in public schools of the city of São Paulo, to analyze the role that the representations developed by supervisors teaching can have on school actions. Although the work is permeated by issues relating to the management school, given that the very subject of the research (teaching supervisor) is inserted into the center of management, which are actually intended to explore issues relating to representations and reading practices of supervisors and how these representations and practices operating in the schooling process, collaborating or not to improve the results and the improvement of teacher education. Thus, the prime reference work is linked to representations of subjects and reading about the possible impact of their operations on teaching thinking. The choice of subjects was related to the view that although supervisors are teaching participants effective school-related issues, not always the pedagogical approach turns specifically to them. To develop the study methodology that primarily subsidize the study will support both approaches to a quantitative and qualitative. These two approaches are not mutually exclusive, but complementary, contributing to a better understanding of the research object. To discuss and analyze the issues raised will seek subsidies in the theories of Alves-Mazzotti (2001), Alonso (2008), Bakhtin (2003, 2006), Barbosa (1998, 2001), Bourdieu (1974, 2004), Chartier (1990, 1991, 2001), Foucault (2008), Kleiman (2005), Nóvoa (2000, 2005), Paro (2007), Rangel (2008), Saviani (2002, 2007, 2008), Silva Jr. (1984, 1997), among others.
