Abstract

The present Scientific Initiation project, related to the thematic project "Knowledge and practices on borders: for a transnational history of education (1810 - ...)" approved by FAPESP in July 2019 (process number 2018 / 26699-4) and entitled "Knowledge and practices in historical perspective: a study of public schools in Guarulhos "aims to continue and deepen the investigations proposed by axis 4: Didactic materials for public education and teacher training indicated in the original thematic project. For the investigation of the axis, it is proposed to map, systematize and analyze the teaching materials produced and used by teachers in the city of Guarulhos between the 1970s to the present day in the context of their initial and continuing education, as well as to understand the representations and appropriations of these materials in the daily life of schools in a given context. To deal with the documentary part related to the history of the school and the professionals who work, it is intended to carry out a survey of sources in the main public collections of Guarulhos and São Paulo, namely: the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Guarulhos, the Historical Archive of the State of São Paulo and the Historical Archive of the Municipality of São Paulo, as well as in the public schools of the municipality of Guarulhos (attending to the oldest ones), with the objective of searching for clues (legislation, periodicals, teaching manuals, textbooks, minutes books and pedagogical documents) of elements related to teacher training and school material culture.
