Abstract

The project has the goal to develop analytical procedures using HPLC-UV-DAD e ESI-MS for the characterization of flavonoids antioxidants in methanolic extracts of Alternanthera maritima, a Brazilian plant with potential antioxidant activity. By this, these extracts are obtained by three different extraction methods (maceration, ultrasonic, reactor jacket) at different extraction times for the same amount of vegetal powder and liquid extractor (methanol), 1:20 (m/v), and submitted to the study for the assessment antioxidant in vitro using the ORAC-FL kinetic trial. Then, the active extracts are analyzed by HPLC-UV/DAD and ESI-MS, in order to detect some flavonoids antioxidant (isolated from this plant, previously) in these active extracts. Therefore, this study will allow to evaluate if the use of jacketed reactor and ultrasonic improve the optimize the process of preparation of methanol extracts of A.maritima, with weight maintenance in mass and antioxidant activity of preparation obtained by comparison with the classic method of maceration, as well, assess whether there is variation in the quantity of flavonoids with antioxidant activity in extracts.
