Abstract

In a first stage, this project intends to briefly describe the philosophical currents of thought of the 17th century in Europe and to make an historical contextualization about the role of the Catholic Church of that time in the formation of a literary thought. The second step of the project intends to verify the characteristics of the German Baroque, which happened in that period, understanding its existence reasons and noticing its influences. Lastly, we taper the corpus and want to find examples of those characteristics in the poetry of Angelus Silesius, analyzing his lyric.
