Abstract

The disorder attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) typically starts at preschool age, may causing functional disabilities throughout their lives. However, the treatment for this disease is expensive and problematic. Moreover, physical exercise and intake of omega seem to improve cognitive performance and behavior, so these could serve as interesting strategies for the improvement of this disorder. Thus, the objective of this study is to investigate the effects of physical training with multiple components and the intake of omegas 3 and 6 on behavior, cognitive function and serum levels of BDNF and IGF-1 in children with ADHD. Will be selected 68 children with ADHD, combined subtype, male, aged between nine and 14 years. Volunteers will be randomly assigned to four groups: Group Training (TG), Omega Group (OG), and Omega Training Group (OTG) and Control Group (CG). Thus, the experiment will run for two months in which everyone will receive a placebo of methylphenidate, in addition, the OTG will perform the physical training and receive capsules of fish oil and the GT will perform only the training physical and receive a placebo of fish oil. The OG and CG will be instructed not to engage in an exercise program, but the OG will receive capsules of fish oil, while CG will receive a placebo of fish oil. At the beginning and end of the protocol will be performed behavioral, blood and cognitive function assessments. (AU)
