Abstract

In this work, voltammetric techniques for the determination of methotrexate (an antimetabolite) in pharmaceutical formulations using a bismuth film electrode as a working electrode will be employed. All system variables will be optimized in order to obtain the best results in terms of analytical sensitivity, reproducibility, selectivity, precision, and accuracy. Addition and recovery, repeatability, and potential interfering species studies will be carried out and, the method will be applied to determine methotrexate in pharmaceutical formulations. The results will be compared with those obtained using the standard method of British Pharmacopoeia, Brazilian, or some method proposed in the literature.(AU)
