Abstract

This project intends to analyze 12 poems, selected from 3 of the nine books Rui Pires Cabral, a Portuguese contemporaneous poet, has produced up to the present date. The project will attempt to characterize and understand the relation between the speaker of the poem and loneliness, a feeling really presents and spread in great urban centers from all over the world and is present in Rui Pires Cabrals poetry, relating it to contemporaneous notions. By the end of the research, it will be identified a contemporaneous concept of poetry, as well as it will be identified the relations between Cabrals and Portuguese contemporaneous poetry, from post-1975 (post- Carnations Revolution)to today.(AU)
