Abstract

This research will investigate the lexicon of women's magazines, with special attention to fashion, whose universe is very receptive to lexical loans, especially those from English, called Anglicisms. Thus, we intend to discuss the presence of English items and expressions in online or printed Italian publications. In addition, we intend to have interviews with Italians undergraduate students to understand whether the messages in English found in such magazines are understandable, i.e., if the messages in this other language are capable of decoding. Therefore, we aim to analyze and check the degree of understanding of the group of people specified about the presence of English in the Italian media. (AU)
