Abstract

This is a descriptive, exploratory, prospective, and longitudinal study aiming at evaluating the quality of life of pregnant patients with cardiopathy, during pregnancy, and after delivery. It will be performed in the gynecology and obstetrics outpatient service of the Botucatu School of Medicine - UNESP. The sample will comprise 50 pregnant women with heart disease in the second pregnancy trimester. To that end, a questionnaire will be used. The questionnaire consists of two parts, the first of which contains identification data, and the second is the generic quality of life evaluation questionnaire Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36), which will be applied in the first interview during pregnancy and upon return to the outpatient service 40 days after delivery. This questionnaire consists of 36 questions that address eight quality of life domains (or dimensions), according to two components: physical and mental.(AU)
