Abstract

In no tillage system the absence of soil mobilization consequently decreases plant residues accumulation and places fertilizers on surface, affecting the acidification process. Thus, it is necessary input application, especially materials for acidity correction.Improvements on physical, chemical and biological soil conditions occur with lime application that favor the production of biomass, increasing the quantity and quality of soil organic matter. The work will be developed in Lageado Experimental Farm (Botucatu-SP),continuing a research project that has been conducted since the 2002/03 crop year, in order to evaluate the effect surface application of lime to correct soil acidity, organic matter, as well as root growth, nutrition and productivity of corn crops and crambe in a region with a dry winter. The sowing of summer crop will be held in November of 2010 and 2011, the culture of crambe and cowpea are planted in April and September of the subsequent years, respectively. The experimental design is a randomized blocks in split plots with four replications. The plots consist of four levels of lime (0, 1000, 2000 and 4000 kg ha-1) and the subplots of two layers of gypsum (0 and 2100 kg ha-1), applied in October 2010. Will be held the following assessments: macronutrient, yield components and crop yields, soil chemical properties at 12 and 24 months after liming and organic matter fractionation and residual limestone soil at 24 months after liming .
