A possible view over the traffic people in prisional situation

Abstract

Through stage accomplished at the closed regime Penitentiary and at the Provisional Detention Annex (ADP) of Assis, we contacted inmates serving time in these places, through informal talks in the school unit and through the inclusion of interviews, held with the team of psychologists and social workers of the institution; this prompted us to question the motives of these people to commit crimes and to be arrested. Some authors point to several parameters as the cause of crime, biological, psychological and social parameters. In this sense we propose to build mappings of existential histories about some convicts to question the experiences of those men that somehow encouraged them to commit the offense in general and in particular Article 33 of Law No 11343 (illicit drugs). We guide ourselves by the mapping method that corresponds to the requirement of this research, speaking with the knowledge that leads to a variation in a complementary manner, taking care not to be reductionist, and believing that each person is always under construction. The research will be developed in a closed prison in the city of Assis, through interviews with four male subjects serving time for the practice of illicit drug trafficking. We believe that research in this area can map existential territories associated with crime, contributing to the creation of public policies that facilitate the reduction of rates of violence and social inequalities. Finally, we propose in this study to question the possible interfaces between psychology and studies of crime.(AU)
