Abstract

This project's main objective is to map critical bibliography of Brazilian Sociology in the 1970s, the discussions concerning classes, and social stratification. The restructuring process started last year in 1970, after the allied advance of neoliberalism and the dissolution of the Soviet bloc, brought the emergence of new theories that questioned the concept of social classes. From this juncture, the research presented here is oriented toward making a critical survey of Brazilian academic production of Sociology of the concept of social classes in the 1970s, with the hypothesis that it may have absorbed these arguments without having experienced exactly the changes that occurred in the central regions of capitalism, such as Europe and the U.S., given the particularities of the Brazilian reality.(AU)
