Abstract

This project proposes the iconographic study of the scenes from the book of the Amduat depicted on coffins dated from the 21st to the early 22nd Dynasty with a view to clarifying the criteria used for the selection of the figurative motifs, their frequency and changes in symbology according to the historical context of its compilation. The project also intends to include in its corpus an unpublished coffin from the São Paulo University's Archaeology and Ethnology Museum collection, which shows a rare and important representation of this funerary book with the intention of making it known in Brazil and abroad.
