Abstract

Rural development conceived as synonymous of technical progress has resulted in, among another, economic, social and environmental problems. The need of the efficient use of natural resources with minimal environmental impact becomes a challenge to solve the environmental energetic problem. The family farming organization provides better management of the natural resources, and promotes better environmental economic organization from the perspective of sustainability. The city of Torre de Pedra/SP, which compounds the Environmental Protection Area "Corumbataí-Botucatu-Tejupá", traditionally has the dairy cattle production system as economic activity, presents environmental and socioeconomic problems. This study aims to identify and analyze energy systems of bovine milk production on family farms in the municipality of Torre de Pedra / SP, performing collection of quantitative and qualitative data, through the application of semi-structured questionnaires can establish conditions detailed analysis of production systems to be studied. Thus, possible bottlenecks will be appointed as the external dependence on nonrenewable sources of energy, based on the years 2011 and 2012. Will be evaluated the direct energy from biological and fossil fuel sources, and the indirect energy from industrial sources; in addiction, the energetic outflows. The results will be presented and discussed based in: production systems, operations from the technical route, structure of energy expenditure or energetic matrix and cultural energy net indicators; energetic and cultural efficiency ratings of the agro ecosystem studied.
