Abstract

The proposed project involves the preparation and characterization of siloxane-methacrylate hybrids doped with cerium (IV) to increase the passivating character of the films, both by PANI hybrid siloxane-modified conjugated polymers and functionalized carbon nanotubes to increase the electrical conductivity and mechanical strength of films. The hybrid siloxane-methacrylate films are prepared via radical polymerization of MMA and MPTS followed by hydrolysis and condensation of TEOS in an ethanol medium catalyzed by acid. PANI-siloxane hybrids are prepared from the polymerization of aniline followed by hydrolysis and condensation of TEOS in an ethanol medium catalyzed by acid and a complementary manner, it is intend to increase the conductivity by the addition of funtionalized carbon nanotubes. In this way is expected to increase the mecanical strength and passivating character of the films against aggressive media (saline and saline / acid) and to produce hybrid films with interesting opto-electrical properties.
