Abstract

In a no-tillage system, the absence of soil mobilization consequently decreases the places of fertilizers on the surface, affecting the acidification process. Like in conventional systems, in no-tillage it is also necessary to input applications, especially materials for acidity correction. The experiment will be carried out in an experimental area, in the city of Botucatu (SP, Brazil), continuing a research project that has been conducted since 2002, with the objective to evaluate the effect of surface application of lime on the nutrition and productivity of the cowpea crop in a region with a dry winter. The cowpea will be sowed in September 2011. The experimental design is a randomized block split-plot with four replications. The plots will consist of four levels of lime (0, 1000, 2000, and 4000 kg ha-1) and the subplots of two levels of gypsum (0 and 2100 kg ha-1), applied in October 2010. Will be evaluated: macronutrient contents, yield components, and grain yield.(AU)
