Abstract

Degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) present in commercial diesel fuel will be studied by applying the technology of advanced oxidation process with Fenton's reagent, using a sewage sludge sintered at high temperature with high content of iron oxides in his composition as the reaction medium. The system uses a pseudo-Fenton concentration of Fe, even in the form of oxides, with the addition of hydrogen peroxide. In this particular case, the presence of ferric species, such as oxides, allows the application of Fenton systems, which can be effective for the remediation of these complex matrices in sintered sludge.(AU)
