Abstract

Ecotourism is an activity that when well planned and developed can bring great benefits to environmental conservation and socio-economic development of local communities. However, the massification and practice poorly planned of this activity can lead to negative environmental impacts and irreversible, especially in environmentally fragile natural environments. Thus, it is essential to carry out environmental studies in natural areas explored by ecotourism. This study aims to evaluate the environmental fragility in the surrounding of Represa does Lobo, in the municipality of Itirapina/SP in order to analyze as well as subsidize the implementation of ecotourism activities in that area. For the purpose will be used the Geotechnology, which will assist in the preparation of maps of the slope, geology, pedology, use, and occupancy of land and vegetation cover. These thematic maps will be integrated through multicriteria analysis in order to prepare the map of environmental fragility, which will indicate areas more environmentally adequate for the development of ecotourism in the surrounding of the weir.
