Abstract

Teachers are great influence in the imagination of their students, particularly children, and has an important role in the formation of critical citizens and promoting decision-makers on matters of Science, Technology and Innovation. This study aims to identify and analyze the scientific culture of teachers of Basic Education of Minas Gerais, in the light of Public Understanding of Science research models, focused on the process of the Education Course from Universidade Aberta do Brasil/ UFMG (Open University Brazil/UFMG). It is expected to encourage future research, outreach programs and scientific training for teachers to be qualified to teach science in the contemporary world. (AU)
